Senior Geoscientist

Position Description:

Reporting to the Head of Quantitative Interpretation and primarily based in London, with international travel required.

Activities will include: rock physics, velocity modelling, well-to-seismic interpretation, acoustic rock and fluid properties analysis, reservoir property modelling, amplitude and AVO assessment, volume interpretation, seismic inversion, pore-pressure prediction and integration with other geophysical techniques such as EM.

Qualifications/Experience:

The following skills, qualifications and experience are required:

  • As a minimum a good honours degree in Geophysics, Geology, Geophysics or other earth or physical science
  • 10 - 15 years oil industry experience (North Sea and EAME)
  • Comprehensive industry experience of geophysical interpretation, processing and inversion
  • A knowledge of the main interpretation platforms: Petrel, Kingdom, Landmark, Hampson-Russell and RokDocŪ or equivalent applications
  • Practical experience in the use of AVO/AVA analysis, borehole seismic, synthetic seismograms, inverse modelling, forward modelling, fluid substitution modelling and basic reservoir engineering
