One of the leading oil companies in the Gulf States
based in a safe and expat friendly location.
Carry out detailed reservoir
seismic characterization, interpretation and modelling studies and to recommend
and drive opportunities to improve geophysical data quality. Partake in the
delivery of fit-for-purpose field development plans as well as planning studies
to maximize hydrocarbon recovery. To recommend and drive activities aimed at
improving geophysical data quality.
Key Accountabilities include:

Undertake seismic
interpretation studies to high technical standards and incorporate relevant
aspects of other disciplines.

Recommend and drive
activities/studies aimed at improving overall 3D seismic data quality.

Liaise with the Geophysical
Processing function and to ensure delivery of quality products i.e. processed
seismic data, VSP displays, well synthetic seismograms and geophysical models.
-
Identify areas where the
acquisition of additional seismic would be an economic method of reducing
geological uncertainties and liaise with the appropriate Directorate to
design/contribute to appropriate acquisition programs.

Construct, together with the
production geologist, reservoir geological models for optimization of field
development planning.

Provide input to subsequent
Field Development Plans and STOIIP/Reserve revisions.

Participate in presentations of
FDPs and proposals to Company management, Private Shareholders and the
Ministry of Oil and Gas.

Identify and liaise with
Exploration teams re PE appraisal prospects within the field boundaries.
-
Identify, support and liaise
with the appropriate Directorate on research projects, notably aimed at
improving geophysical data & which impact the reservoir development and
management activities.

Identify opportunities for
enhancing the application of Information Technology and Data Management to
improve overall 3D seismic data quality and management.

Prepare comprehensive
documentation and presentations.

Identify opportunities for
enhancing the application of Information Technology and Data Management to
meet the operational and PE planning requirements.

| Qualifications/ Experience: |
The following skills,
qualifications and experience are required:
-
University degree in
Geology/Geophysics
-
Technical professional
Production Seismologist with minimum of 6 years experience.
-
Skills in Seismic to Well Tie,
Horizon Picking & Event Identification, 3D Seismic Interpretation, Time to
Depth Conversion, Map Generation, Attribute Extraction and Analysis, Amplitude
Studies, Seismic Inversion Analysis are essential.

Strong knowledge of Seismic
Interpretation applications including PETREL SI.

Strong Integration with other
Petroleum Engineering Disciplines.

Well developed inter personal
and presentation skills, good team player, enjoy working in small
multidisciplinary and multicultural project teams.

Good leadership skills;
experience working effectively in multidisciplinary teams and is a strong team
player
-
Effective communicator, ability
to coach/mentor younger staff and ability to think beyond discipline.
