A national petroleum exploration and production company dedicated in providing a sustainable petroleum supply. A top-ten publicly-listed company in the Stock Exchange of Thailand, operating in more than 40 projects around the world

Responsibilities for this role include:

  • Validate geophysical data and ensure consistency of the analysis, interpretation and synthesis of same.

  • Interpret and calibrate geophysical data for new block evaluation.

  • Conduct reservoir characterization from seismic and actively participate in geological model construction in cooperation with geologists, engineers and geosciences specialists (structural interpretation and seismic attributes studies).

  • Recommend seismic acquisition programs, required additional geophysical work and costs for acquisition.

  • Identify key geophysical issues involved in new block evaluation.

  • Take part in technical meetings with partners where joint studies are performed.

  • Share knowledge and engage with colleagues in teams and regions.

  • Participate to develop team spirit and efficient working atmosphere within new ventures group and when required, to liaise with other work groups in the company.

  • Coach, motivate and develop junior staff in order to improve their skills to fulfil their job requirements. Conduct technical training to explain geophysical concepts and share technical knowledge with the team.

Qualifications/ Experience:

The following skills, qualifications and experience are required:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in geophysics or related discipline.

  • 10-15 years’ experience in petroleum exploration geophysical interpretation of both structural and stratigraphic plays.

  • Specific work experience in S.E. Asian, N. African, Middle East and CIS basins preferential.

  • Good command of both written and spoken English

  • Excellent knowledge of structural geology & geophysics.

  • Good knowledge of and ability to interpret efficiently on seismic workstations. (SMT Kingdom (minimum), Landmark).
