Position Description:
Application Geoscientist (Geolog), Customer Support based in Australia.
This role will include an element of traditional helpdesk style software
support services, including phone, email & web support. In addition to support
services, this position will also include technical sales and consulting
functions.
Accountabilities include:
- Software Consulting – Provide interpretation & modeling services as
assigned across all domains of the Geolog™ suite of applications.
- Training - Ensure consistent high quality delivery of training material
for the Company’s Applications. Capable of conducting basic & advanced
classroom training on Geolog™ software across all domains/module.
- Support - Perform troubleshooting of client issues. Own issue until
escalated appropriately and/or resolved with client satisfaction.
- Demonstrate proficiency with all Support procedures & the internal
tracking and reporting systems
- Professional Development - Continue to actively develop own technical
expertise with the Geolog™ Suite. Actively seek personal development of
non-technical competencies through assignments & formal training
- Business Development – Actively engage with clients & the sales group to
identify & close new training & on-site opportunities. Maintain awareness of
emerging technologies to leverage future opportunities with clients
- Testing – assist with the evaluation of functionality, usability and bug
identification in new software releases as required. Report client
enhancement requests. Routinely report problems utilizing internal tracking
systems
- Technical Reporting - Complete & submit Consultant Activity Reports
after each project on a timely basis.
- Internal Reporting - Complete all time tracking using corporate tools by
specified deadline & complete expense reports at least monthly as per
company policies
Qualifications/Experience:
The following skills, qualifications and experience are required:
- Holder of a Bsc degree with at least 4 years experience in a similar
capacity
- Conversant with industry standard Petrophysical workflows, and will also
have some experience of Geolog™ suite of products.
- Knowledge of Linux and windows operating systems
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Self Starter, willing to learn the Company’s suite of applications
- Focused on customer service
- Ability to work on a team
- Project professional image.
- Strong analytical problem solving
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Flexible must be able to travel
