Training and Development Manager

Position Description:

The Training Manager guides and manages the overall provision of Training & Education services, facilities, policies, and initiatives for company supported project sites

Primary Objectives:

  • Development of organizational capability through training & development that addresses skills and competency development requirements of the organization;

  • Delivery of technical, soft skill and behavioural training and development;

  • Provision of flexible available training program & resources that is conscious of the organizations client project demands and associated life cycles.

  • Produce training & development plans and strategies to meet organisational needs;

  • Liaise and consult with Heads of Departments, Project Directors and Senior Management and ensure they are informed of training & development objectives, policies and initiatives;

  • Plan training budgets, forecast and delegate breakdown of costs as required by organizational planning;

  • Identify training & education needs for all departments within the company;

  • Identify training & education needs for all sites supported by company E&C;

  • Implement and maintain business systems to monitor staff training provision;

  • Promote awareness and facilitate education on best practices in training & development;

  • Co-ordinate linkages and facilitate necessary support for organizational requirements of HSSE, quality systems, legal and general duty of care.

  • Ensure provision and logistic support of training facilities, equipment and resources;

  • Manage and provide development coaching to direct reports and support team;

  • Identify and manage cost effective external providers & supplier base to support training needs

  • Management and administration of training budget. Delivering of training & development needs identified according to organisational capability and competency requirements that also meets the current and planned future growth needs of the business.

  • This provision optimized within projected budgetary constraints.

  • Responsible for making all decisions related to training & development.

  • Management of Training & Development team that delivers training programmes, manages training facilities

  • Mentoring and coaching

Qualifications/Experience:

The following skills, experience and qualifications are required:

  • Management degree from a reputed institute with minimum 20 years experience in organizations related to Training, Education, Executive Development, Business Process Improvement, Change Management and Employee Coaching & Development.
  • Felixibility to travel as required to support client sites and liaise with sister companies.
  • Understand of adult learning andragogy principles
