A leading global independent energy company, engaged in the exploration and production of crude oil and natural gas. Exploration and production is the engine of future income and growth, currently representing nearly 70% of capital employed and over 95% of annual capital expenditures. The Company has operations in the United States, United Kingdom, Norway, Denmark, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Azerbaijan, Thailand and Indonesia.

The principal accountabilities of this role include providing Engineering advice and support to maximize the Operations’ efficiency. Managing respective people and organization. Management of EHS function in the respective department and relevant administration and reports. Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide engineering advice and support to maximize the offshore and onshore operations’ efficiency.

  • Focal point for production engineering support to field operations.

  • Improve existing techniques for reporting production efficiency. Provide feedback on asset performance to senior management, business partners and government.

  • Review well test and operating data in order to improve efficiency, raise production and reduce operating costs. Develop and improve techniques to monitor and optimize; gas, oil and condensate production.

  • Proactively identify, develop and implement ideas for capital investment projects to enhance production.

  • Key liaison between subsurface, drilling and operations staff.

  • Work closely with field personnel to manage well and Christmas tree integrity, including corrosion monitoring.

  • Liaise with commercial group to schedule tanker loadings. Optimise produced volumes to fit with tanker movements.

  • Assist with preparation of short term and long term production forecasting.

  • Assist in preparation and maintenance of annual operation’s team budget.

  • Assess value of plant de bottlenecking and work with Process Engineer to implement de bottleneck projects.

  • Influence drilling and completion design for future wells to provide optimized production and improve operability of future well stock.

  • Create profiles with subsurface to confirm future facility capacity requirements.

  • Build a support network and processes to allow operations to implement flexible intervention programmes.

  • Perform nodal analysis for production optimization and well monitoring

  • Build a working network model for production optimization, plant upgrades and daily monitoring

  • Manage respective people and organization

  • Mentor and lead junior engineers and those unfamiliar with production engineering discipline.

  • Participate in training operations personnel

  • Manage EHS function in the respective department

  • Manage relevant administration and report - ensuring the confidentiality of the company’s documentation.

Qualifications/ Experience:

The following skills, qualifications and experience are required:

  • 5 – 15 years experience in oil and gas operations, subsurface or completions environment

  • A Bachelor or Masters Degree in Engineering, preferably Petroleum

Technical Competencies and Knowledge:

  • Proficient in nodal analysis and network modelling

  • Preferably proficient with OFM and database management

  • Familiar with well intervention techniques and completion design philosophy

  • Gas lift design and operation

  • Computer literacy: Word, Excel, Power Point, email, internet, OFM, Petroleum Experts Suite

  • Language: fluent spoken and written English
