An oil and gas exploration and production company
with focus on searching for exploration and production assets in the prospective
hydrocarbon basins of India, Australia - particularly in the Northwest Shelf and
in the Timor Sea, and in the countries of Southeast and South Asia and near
Middle East around the rim of the Indian Ocean.
As General Manager – Oman, the
individual is responsible for the management and oversight of all Company
operations and activities in Oman.
General responsibilities
include:
-
Lead and direct a staff of 10
employees and consultants.
-
Responsible for the management
of all Government relations, Production Sharing Contract and statutory
compliance including compliance with the MOG Tendering Guidelines, exploration
activities including drilling and seismic acquisition, HSE, and procurement.

Participate in high-level
strategy planning sessions.
-
Prepare and execute the in
country activities associated with the annual Company business plan.
-
Oversee the preparation,
approval and execution of annual joint venture work programs and budgets and
ensure that work is completed within budget.

Review, approve and issue all
Joint Venture Billing Statements and Cash Calls.

Establish local Company
policies and procedures as required.

Provide leadership, direction
and general management for staff

Develop the Omani national
staff and prepare and execute an Omanisation plan.
Health, Safety, Security and
Environment Responsibilities:
Responsible for:
-
Implementing the Company’s HSSE
Management System and developing an annual HSE Plan to progress agreed HSSE
initiatives;
-
Ensuring that HSSE policies &
procedures are in place and adhered to;
-
Maintaining, up dating and
ensuring that all staff and contractors are familiar with the Company’s HSE
Policy, HSE Management Plan and Emergency Response Plan;
-
Ensuring that Environmental
Permits are obtained and valid prior to the commencement of seismic or
drilling activities;
-
Ensuring that the Company’s
contractors comply with all applicable international standards with respect to
HSE;
-
Ensuring that all Company
contractors comply with local statutory laws and regulations regarding HSE.

| Qualifications/ Experience: |
The following skills,
qualifications and experience are required:
-
Will have at least 15+ years of
experience working in the E&P industry with an operating company(s).

Will have at least 5+ years of
general management experience.
-
Broad exposure to all aspects
of the E&P business.

Experience in Government
liaison.
-
Experience with production
sharing contracts and joint venture operating agreements.
-
Proven administrative
management ability.
-
Strong leadership,
interpersonal and communication skills.
-
High level of discretion and
confidentiality.
-
A qualified degree in an
appropriate discipline.
-
Experience living and working
in foreign countries.
-
Strong cultural sensitivity and
respect for differing cultures, religion, race or gender.
