We are looking for an Offshore Installation Manager (OIM) on FPSO (Floating Production, Storage and Offloading) vessel. Our ideal candidate will be responsible for the overall health and safety management of all people working on the FPSO and will be accountable for managing all aspects of the business on the Installation.

In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks which include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Managing all aspects of the offshore operation as the highest authority on board the FPSO

  • Supporting and maintaining the quality management program relative to the FPSO operations

  • Establishing and managing Loss Control responsibility

  • Promoting a safety culture where all personnel have an understanding of the Safety Plan and operate rigorously in accordance with it

  • Assuming responsibility for the command and control of the onboard response organization in the event of an emergency

  • Ensuring strict implementation of the Permit to Work (PTW) system

  • Ensuring that regular Emergency Response drills are carried out in compliance with regulations

  • Facilitating constructive work relationships with all personnel, encouraging open communication, both vertically and laterally

  • Ensuring production, maintenance and health, safety & environment targets are achieved through close regular monitoring

  • Working in conjunction with onshore Superintendents to ensure that the numbers, skills and competency of those onboard is sufficient to meet installation and legislative requirements and develop to the needs of the operation

  • Monitoring and assessing the performance of offshore personnel and identifying training or development plans for individuals

  • Monitoring and reviewing the implementation and content of any relevant procedures and certification to ensure they meet the needs of the offshore, legislative or company requirements

  • Providing input into and monitoring Health, Safety & Environment yearly performance targets. This includes providing solutions/recommendations and developing strategic plans to ensure yearly performance targets are achieved

  • Regularly reviewing and monitoring compliance with safe work systems and procedures

  • Ensuring that any documentation and certification required to support the effective management of the Installation is reviewed, controlled and updated as necessary

Qualifications/ Experience:

The following skills, qualifications and experience are required:

  • A relevant engineering degree or technical diploma would be a definite asset

  • Minimum of 15 years of petroleum industry experience, including at least 5 years in a supervisory/management position preferably as an Offshore Installation Manager

  • Offshore experience, which includes FPSO experience is a must

  • Strong understanding of production operations, especially in an offshore environment

  • Experience working in a regulatory environment, preferably an offshore environment

  • Thorough knowledge of equipment, operating practices and the required personnel associated with an offshore operation

  • Proficiency in Emergency Command and Control

  • Experience with the application of horizontal production and water injection wells, SMART well technology experience would be beneficial

  • Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a multi-disciplinary team. This includes coaching, mentoring, staff development and guiding individuals towards achieving successful outcomes and goals

  • Strategic leadership style to create and achieve organizational objectives

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with a variety of personnel, other industry participants, both internal and external to the Company.

  • Ability to make timely decisions, render judgments and take action when appropriate, often under stressful and demanding conditions

  • Superior analytical skills to identify key issues based on relevant data and provide appropriate solutions/recommendations

  • Proven skills in effectively managing multiple tasks, often under pressure and within time constraints

  • Adaptable to a changing work environment with different tasks, responsibilities and people

  • Ability to effectively communicate information at all levels within the offshore and onshore organization

Medical (Physical) Requirements/Standards

You will be required to work offshore and, therefore must successfully complete the medical assessment and required training for clearance to work in that environment
