Senior Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer

Position Description:

Provision of project instrument and electrical engineering technical support to assist the Company achieve effective delivery of capital projects from conceptual design, detailed design, procurement, construction, commissioning and implementation:

• To the highest level of safety and environmental requirements;

• To meet agreed quality, operability and cost effectiveness objectives;

• Assisting Project Managers to do so within agreed cost and schedule constraints

Duties & Responsibilities include:

• Provide discipline technical support in front-end planning, approvals, engineering and procurement, construction, commissioning and handover to operations.

• Maintenance of Company Corporate standards and specifications relating to instrument and electrical engineering

• To provide technical support and advice to Operations where required

• Participate in a multidisciplinary team environment to ensure efficient developments are achieved.

• Development of concept designs and design basis documents.

• Act as a mentor for less experienced staff.

• Write operations procedures as required and provide operator training for new assets.

• Other duties as directed by the Engineering Manager.

Actively support the Company’s commitment to occupational health and safety and the environment, including:

• Adopting standard safe work practices and procedures in accordance with the Company’s safety policies;

• Conducting activities in accordance with the Company’s environmental policies, codes and guidelines

Qualifications/Experience:

The following skills, qualifications and experience are required:

• Engineering Degree (Electrical) or equivalent skill and experience

• Eligible for Corporate Membership of the Institution of Engineers, Australia

• 8+ years of demonstrable experience in design and implementation of instrumentation and control systems in an oil and gas environment

• Experience in discipline engineering roles with Instrument, Electrical and Control systems on gas compression plants and pipelines, or similar continuous processing industry

• Experience in the design, sizing and specification of instrument, electrical and process control system equipment.

• Experience in procurement of equipment for major capital projects, supervising construction contractors and leading commissioning teams.

• Experience in the preparation of standard Control and Shutdown Philosophy and specifications.

• Experience in the execution of Control and Shutdown System software development including hands on systems programming, testing and commissioning.

• Experience in the identification and project engineering of improvement projects for existing production assets.

• Preferably experience as a key participant in conceptual and feasibility studies for infrastructure projects.
