Senior Geophysicist

Position Description:
This position is for a Senior Geophysicist
focused on integrated interpretation of Gravity, Magnetics and
Electromagnetics (EM) data. The primary activity will be analyzing geological
and geophysical information in support of conventional and unconventional
hydrocarbon exploration worldwide. The skill set will include integrating
tectonic framework analysis, structural mapping and salt modeling. The
position will involve close teamwork with company Geoscientists within
Upstream Technology and throughout the Business Units, working on projects
throughout North America, Europe, Africa and Asia-Pacific regions. The
successful candidate will report to the manager of the Geoscience Services in
the Upstream Technology department.
Responsibilities include:

Generate integrated, creative and
technically-sound interpretations of potential fields data at regional and
prospect levels.

Support gravity and magnetic data
acquisitions including survey design and data QC.

Evaluate exploration, production and
business development opportunities, including company-held acreage, bid
rounds, and farm-in opportunities.

Clearly communicate and document project
results and recommendations.

Interface with all necessary internal
groups and organizations to apply best practices.

Establish and maintain professional
relationships within industry, especially in Gravity and

Magnetic and Electromagnetics communities,
to build technical knowledge and capabilities.

Monitor and analyze industry activity in
Gravity, Magnetics and Electromagnetics and recommend appropriate actions.

Champion research both internal and
through joint industry projects.

Maintain and enhance proficiency with
existing and developing gravity/magnetics software and methods.
Qualifications/Experience:
The following skills, qualifications and
experience are required:

Major Discipline: Geology or Geophysics

Years Experience Required: Minimum 15
years experience in potential fields geophysics in the Oil & Gas industry,
including gravity and magnetics.

Computer Proficiencies: Fugro LCT
including 3MOD with capability of handling complex geometries, Geosoft
OasisMontaj and GM-SYS 2D/3D, ESRI ArcGIS, Seisworks, Gocad and knowledge of
one programming language (Fortran or similar).
