Manifold Package Engineer

Position Description:

Reporting to the Subsea Equipment Manager and working closely with the subsea equipment vendors, the Manifold Package Engineer will be involved in the detail design development of a range of subsea structures, with particular responsibility for the manifold design and installation package. You will also work closely with the Marine Construction Manager, to ensure the design is compatible with the selected installation contractor's construction vessels and lifting systems

This position will be based in Kuala Lumpur for approximately 6 months, but will then relocate to the selected subsea trees and control system vendor project offices (SE Asia, North America or Europe).

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring timely delivery of key deliverables, specifications and design reviews

  • Reviewing design, manufacturing and installation drawings and procedures

  • Monitoring the work and tracking the progress and performance of the vendor(s), ensuring it meets the project's needs

  • Executing and overseeing the Manifold package Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and fabrication works on site

  • Preparing engineering reports, work schedules and cost estimates

  • Managing expenses within approved budget

  • Interfacing with other disciplines (particularly Marine Construction, Trees, and Installation and Work Over Controls System) to ensure cross-package and inter-contract compliance and consistency in installation and operation

  • Overseeing and monitoring vendors' manufacturing and FAT sessions

  • Supervising pre-installation and installation phase works

  • Responsibility for offshore pre-commissioning and commissioning support

  • Participating in all Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) meetings, ensuring the vendor work methods are in line with the Company's HSE requirements

  • Contributing, as required, to other project discipline meetings etc. Hazardous Operations (HAZID), Hazard and Operability Analysis (HAZOP) etc.

 

Qualifications/Experience:

The following skills, qualifications and experience are required:

  • A recognized Engineering Degree is required

  • PMP or advanced project management degree or equivalent experience

  • Registered Professional Engineer

  • A minimum of 10 years experience in subsea engineering with particular emphasis on design, manufacture and installation of manifolds and connection equipment

  • Strong commercial acumen and contract management skills. Experience in a wide variety of contracting and execution strategies.

  • Working knowledge of international and local codes

  • Related experience on at least 2 Major Subsea Projects from start to finish

  • Recent experience in offshore deepwater projects

  • Established network of industry contacts within the subsea engineering community

  • Effective technical writing skills

  • Proven practical knowledge of current project management tools (cost management systems, scheduling, estimating, risk tools, etc.)

  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholder and external service providers

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Proficiency with Chinese Mandarin a significant plus

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong team skills

  • Highly motivated, outstanding positive attitude and willingness to grow the position

  • Strong business focus

  • Proven innovation skills
