location focused on exploiting onshore assets.
Key responsibilities for this
role include:
-
Preparation and development of
process deliverables such as PFD's (including heat and mass balances), P&IDs,
Equipment sizing / Process Data Sheets, Process Design Criteria, Simulation,
Plant optimisation, HAZOP, issues connected with process safety, including
design and specification of relief and venting systems etc.

Engineer all facility design
modifications and upgrades following the best engineering practices, current
industry and the Company’s standards. Develop schemes for process
modifications to overcome bottlenecks, operability problems, improve
production, efficiency, reliability etc. Ensure changes are documented
following the Facility Change Procedure.

Good understanding of the
issues driving the development of “life of the field” solutions

Coordinate implementation of
new projects with operations and maintenance ensuring full communication with
all relevant disciplines.

Develop full commissioning and
startup plans for new equipment as necessary.
-
Employ simulation models where
appropriate to assist in process design.
-
Conduct safety and hazard
reviews (HAZOP) of facility projects incorporating modifications recommended
for safe operation. Participate in Safety Integrity Level (SIL) studies as
required.

Maintain knowledge up to date
with current process developments.
-
Ensure Company standards are
maintained in line with current industry practices.
-
Provide technical support
during shutdown activities.
-
Involved in the Risk Assessment
evaluation carried out for project activities within the facilities.
-
Liaise with and monitor
performance of Consultants and Contractors.

Provide support to Plant
Operations as required.

Contribute to the Company’s
continuous improvement in HSE performance by ensuring safety and environmental
standards are maintained within the workplace in accordance with the OES,
including the prompt reporting of any safety or environmental hazards or
potential safety or environmental hazards identified".
Environmental: Carries out
environmental, safety and hazard reviews of plant projects where applicable.
Interrelations: With
Maintenance, HSE, Operations, Management and Contractors.

| Qualifications/ Experience: |
The following skills,
qualifications and experience are required:
-
Bachelors Degree in Chemical
Engineering with
-
A minimum of ten years process
engineering experience in upstream oil and gas.
-
Ideally should have worked with
a consultant or operator on “brown field” modifications.
-
Good communication skills and a
team player.
-
Must be able to interact
effectively with other specialist disciplines both inside and outside the
organisation when developing plans for plant modifications etc.
-
Must be capable of conducting
technical discussions with contractors and working closely with them as
required.
-
Required to be knowledgeable
over a very wide range of subjects and interact with all the plant groups,
Operations, Maintenance, Control Systems, Mechanical, Electrical and HSE.

Must be self motivated, action
oriented, proactive, and needs to acquire the knowledge/expertise required for
the facility.

Must be capable of working
closely with and/or directing contractors for construction and engineering
work.
