Rotating Equipment Engineer

Position Description:

Australia's largest publicly listed independent oil and gas exploration and production company and is one of the nation's most successful explorers, developers and producers of hydrocarbons. The company's major producing assets are based on the North West Shelf Venture, Australia's largest resource development and the United States - interests in several deepwater and shallow water exploration blocks of the Gulf of Mexico.

An opportunity exists for a mechanical engineering professional to take on the role of Rotating Equipment Engineer. This role provides advice on Rotating Equipment issues to Operations, Maintenance, and other Engineering Departments.

Reporting to the Chief Rotating Equipment Engineer, this role is responsible for:

• Verification and maintenance of the integrity of Rotating Equipment assets at the Gas Plant

• Improve the reliability of the equipment and reduce downtime in a cost effective manner,

• Initiate and investigate equipment upgrades to improve production, extend maintenance intervals, eliminate inspections and reduce costs

• Verify and maintain the integrity of the relevant standards, specifications and procedures for existing and future plant,

• Act as Rotating Equipment Inspector during shutdowns to ensure QA/QC standards are enforced & maintained,

• Investigate all equipment failures with the aim of eliminating bad actors.

In addition, this role will be accountable for the safety, integrity and environmental performance of the assigned rotating equipment and assets. It is expected that this role will demonstrate a commitment to safety performance by setting a positive example to others, assist in the development, communication and instruction of safe work procedures and actively promote them and report incidents/hazards as per HSE06 procedure and ensure appropriate remedial actions are undertaken.

• Tertiary Qualified Mechanical Engineer.

• 6 years post-graduate experience with a minimum of 4 years in the field of rotating equipment and have at least 2 years LNG plant experience.
