An integrated international service provider to the
oil & gas industry, with capabilities to serve the complete lifecycle for
upstream, midstream and downstream facilities and infrastructure.
To develop and conduct
theoretical and workplace based Instrument and Control training programmes for
nominated personnel.
Key responsibilities include:
-
To conduct theoretical and OJT
programmes for Experienced and Junior Instrument Technicians.
-
Develop and prepare all course
teaching materials, and, visual aids. This will also include any course
reference materials and / or student workbooks. Maintain electronic and hard
copy of all individual training records, and to provide accurate reports as
and when required by the training co-ordinator or management

To provide the Assistant
Training Manager with detailed student progress reports containing the
assessment, level of competence, attendance and behaviours of the trainees
-
Liaise with equipment vendors,
and any additional specialist instrumentation suppliers to ensure that
teaching materials support the knowledge required for a trainee to develop
satisfactory workplace competence

To conduct instrument and
control overview training programmes for production personnel and others
requiring a basic presentation on the plants operational control features
-
To design appropriate courses
for the trainees and to schedule their release to the operational plant to
enable them to quickly develop and utilise their new skills on the job

To conduct refresher training
courses, and additional remedial programmes if requested.
Safety responsibilities:

At all times lead by example
and be aware of, and receptive to, the needs and concerns of the trainees.
This will be of particular relevance when conducting training on the plant and
in the practical training areas

Demonstrate a personal
commitment to Health, Safety and the Environment. Promote the use of safe
working practices at all stages of the training programme.

Abide by all local Statutory
Health, Safety & Environmental Regulations and company Corporate Health,
Safety & Environment Policy, and apply the company Safety Management Systems.

Exercise all appropriate
safeguards when operating, or making minor repairs to, electrical equipment,
ensuring that such are carried out in accordance with manufacturer’s
instructions.

| Qualifications/ Experience: |
The following skills,
qualifications and experience are required:
-
Degree in the field of electro
technical engineering or industrial technical diploma in the field of
instrumentation and control engineering. Evidence of experience/qualification
with advanced DCS and PLC’s.

A minimum of ten (10) years
experience in executing instrumentation and control training courses for the
energy sector.
-
Candidates should have
development, delivery and OJT experience plus D32/33 or A1 qualified
-
Excellent knowledge of modern
instrument and control equipment- field instrumentation, process automation,
DCS and PLC’s.
-
Comprehensive experience with
the installation, commissioning, troubleshooting and maintenance of a wide
range of modern instrumentation based plant control systems. Yokogawa
experience would be advantageous.

Proven track record of
delivering classroom and on the job instruction to international oil field
standards

Fluent in English (written and
verbal)
-
Effective communicator with a
genuine interest in the subject matter. Be capable of working with different
cultures and developing good working relationships with trainees and senior
staff.

He / she needs to have a
flexible attitude to all work activities, and be prepared to accept training
schedule changes If necessary, and to work unsocial hours to get the job done.
