Responsible for all phases of the oil and gas industry in Qatar. Principal activities include exploration, drilling production, storage and transport and sale of crude oil, natural gas liquids, liquefied natural gas, gas-to-liquids, refined products and petrochemicals.

Primary Purpose Of The Job

  • Lead the development of the Corporation’s LNG Marketing Strategy, considering the overall risks and benefits to the State.

  • Research, analyse and assess market and competitor data to develop pricing principles and recommendations.

  • Develop creative and innovative structures to add value to the Corporation’s LNG portfolio thorough the development of new markets and capturing new business opportunities.

  • Develop negotiation strategies and secure an internal mandate by developing proposals to approach partners with new sale proposals.

  • Undertake market analysis and customer development activities.

  • Negotiate LNG SPAs, HoAs, Term Sheets and other LNG-related commercial contracts.

  • Maintain strong Customer Relationships through frequent contacts and networking.

  • Direct and oversee the activities of LNG Marketing Advisors.

Qualifications/ Experience:

The following skills, qualifications and experience are required:

  • B.Sc. degree from a recognized school in a related discipline (Engineering, Business, Economics and Finance). An advanced degree is advantageous.

  • 20 years relevant experience in the oil and gas industry, including at least 10 years in LNG marketing.

  • Diverse professional marketing experience in LNG markets in both traditional and emerging markets.

  • Extensive experience in LNG and gas market fundamentals for various markets (Asia Pacific, Europe, North America, etc.).

  • Experience with spot sales activities including negotiation of price, charter hires and terms, and timely evaluation of customers’ proposals in relation to quantities, prices, shipment size and terms.

  • Advanced contract negotiation, legal drafting, and legal interpretation skills.

  • Strong problem solving, influencing and communication skills.

  • Advanced analytical/ economic modelling skills.

  • Strong business knowledge, strategy and market analysis, and customer and contract development skills.

  • Ability to communicate with clarity and logic at higher levels within the organization and with partners, customers, and third parties.

  • Advanced computing skills.

  • Fluent in English. Fluency in Arabic is advantageous.
