Do you want the challenge of working in a team to evaluate the light tight oil potential of a number of prospective areas? 

The Opportunity:

The assignment is initially for period of 2 years, but this will extend to 4 years and beyond if the project is successful. Should the initial phase of the project not be successful, the incumbent would be re-assigned to another Project or Asset team within the company.

The role is part of a team accountable for the maturation of all conventional and unconventional oil discoveries made by the evaluation teams in Exploration.

The project requires a mature technical specialist with hands-on experience in the petrophysical evaluation of unconventional reservoirs. The role requires an individual with advanced petrophysical experience and specific skills in tight reservoir evaluation and SCAL. A key requirement is the ability to work to tight deadlines and the flexibility to adapt to a rapidly evolving project plan.

The Person:

The following skills, experience and qualifications are required:

• Minimum BSc Honours, MSc or PhD in Engineering/Science Discipline
• In-depth knowledge of Petrophysics with greater than 10 years experience with in-depth knowledge of tight reservoir evaluation, preferably gained in a shale oil setting

• Risk Management & Decision Analysis

• Carbonate reservoir evaluation
• Fluid sampling
• Operational Support
• Geomechanics
• SCAL
• HSSE Management Systems
