Data Management Team Leader

The Opportunity

The Data Management Team Leader will be responsible for the management of all Geotechnical Data within the company. The key purpose of the role is to provide timely and reliable geotechnical data delivery within the prescribed guidelines

Technical areas of expertise should include data security and safety, all aspects of data management (loading, validating, transfer, cleanup, backups, and maintenance) and disaster recovery.

You will be required to establish a data management team to ensure that all work related to data management is completed successfully and within an acceptable time frame. There will be the opportunity to work with Corporate IT to form strategies relating to infrastructure and data movement internally and externally.

The Person

The following skills, experience and qualification will be required:

• Degree or higher in Geophysics with exposure to or formal training in geoscience data management,
• 10+ years experience which includes 5 years recent experience in a similar role in the O&G industry, and some experience working in an operator company.
• Broad understanding of entire E&P business operations and business processes
• Must have sound knowledge and practical understanding of the use and manipulation of G&G data repositories.
• Practical understanding of CRS concepts, spatial data and its manipulation.
• Experience of running subsurface data clean-up projects.
• Oversight of initiatives to improve and standardize workflows and practices and the experience to proactively identify and optimize them to use and manipulate subsurface data efficiently.
• Coordination of all subsurface data management activities.
• Strong networker and relationship builder.
