Principal Ecologist

Cambridge, UK
Salary: £35 - 40K

A fantastic opportunity has opened for an expert ecologist to join an outstanding, established team in Cambridge. You will bring your skills and areas of expertise to the team and help maintain the already successful services they offer.

You will join the team at Principal level and there is plenty of scope to take on more of a business development role if you so wish.

You will be required to possess the following core skills:

  • Phase 1 surveys
  • NVCs
  • River corridor Surveys
  • Species Surveys (including any of the following – Plants, invertebrates, crayfish, freshwater fish, reptiles, amphibians, birds, badgers, bats, water voles, dormice and otters.
  • Ecological Data analysis
  • Habitat Mapping
  • Protected species Licenses

On top of these essential skills any of the following would be advantageous:

  • Business Development Knowledge
  • Project Management skills
  • Legislation and policy advice
  • Wildlife habitat creation and management
  • Background from Natural England desirable but not essential

You will be qualified to degree level in ecology or a relevant discipline and have extensive related experience e.g. consultancy experience. Protected species licences are a must and will be essential to your great success within the consultancy.
