An exciting opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic senior Geotechnical Engineer to progress their career within the established geotechnical team of a top UK Consultant.

The vacancy is for a senior member of the geotechnical team based within the Civil Engineering department in a central London office. With significant post graduate experience the candidate will be chartered or near chartered and have a detailed understanding of major civil engineering projects and the role of geotechnics within them.

Extensive geotechnical design experience will enable the candidate to fully exploit the autonomy and opportunities available within the geotechnical team. The candidate will be expected to provide leadership and design guidance to more junior members of the team as required on a project specific basis.

Candidate Requirements
Essential
Civil Engineering related degree, BEng level minimum,.
Chartered, or currently pursuing chartership
Significant relevant post graduate experience with contractors and / or consultants .
Thorough understanding of geotechnical design principles and their relevant applications
Capabilities in main geotechnical analysis packages

Desirable
MEng level degree
MSc in Geotechnical Subject
Working with contractors on major Design and Build projects
Use of Eurocodes and other international design standards
Clean UK driving licence
Active within industry Institutions, Forums or Societies. Keen to understand, investigate and embrace new technologies, design philosophies or construction techniques applicable to Geotechnical Engineering
Good team player within a multi-disciplinary environment, but able to work on own initiative and under pressure when necessary.
