Our client is looking to recruit a Geotechnical Engineer to join their well established team in Newcastle.

The candidate should be able to demonstrate a high level of technical competency in offshore/onshore geotechnical engineering as well as a sound understanding of geological and sedimentary processes in general. In addition, a good working knowledge of hydrographic and geophysical survey techniques would be a distinct advantage.

The candidate should be experienced in anticipating and understanding clients' requirements in terms of scoping offshore geotechnical investigations and following the data acquisition and reporting process through to formulation and selection of geotechnical design parameters.

An ability to demonstrate sound technical delivery, project management skills, client liaison and interaction and a proactive approach to industry HSEQ requirements is required. A good working knowledge and understanding of the energy sector as a whole would be highly desirable.

Role Requirements

B.Sc degree in Civil Engineering or one of the Geological or Earth Sciences or equivalent.
M.Sc or other postgraduate qualification would be highly desirable.
Offshore site investigation experience and an understanding and working knowledge of offshore site investigation equipment and laboratory testing would be a distinct advantage.
The successful candidate should possess dynamism and demonstrate proactive behavioural traits. The ability to be able to work independently or as part of a team is essential. Initiative and responsibility are considered key attributes, as is the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external clients.
