Senior Carbon Footprinting Consultant

The responsibilities of the position on offer are:

TECHNICAL: Deliver carbon footprint and carbon management for a wide variety of clients.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT: Manage projects including costs, performance and spend against budget, quality, deadlines, delivery of reports, presentations and other deliverables. Manage the project team, review the progress of the project on a regular basis and take responsibility for delivery to client needs. Resolve technical and financial queries through consultation with project managers and technical managers where appropriate.

CLIENT CARE: Responsible for client care as required on projects (under instruction from the project director) including communication of progress, complex issues and any financial arrangements. Ensure projects delivered are meeting the client’s needs.

COMMERCIAL: Support the Commercial Director to further develop the carbon footprint offering, providing technical and business development support as necessary. Work with colleagues to increase the company’s visibility and promote its reputation in the carbon footprinting market.

TEAM WORKING: Encourage and motivate the team by displaying a personal commitment and positive attitude at all times and acts as an ambassador for teamwork.

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Candidates are likely to hold a degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline (science, engineering, geography).
  • An MSc (or equivalent) qualification is desirable.

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • Experience of working in a consultancy environment will be an advantage however other relevant backgrounds will be considered.
  • Proven experience of delivering carbon management and/or carbon footprint projects to time and budget.
  • Preparation of reports and proposals and delivery of high level presentations.
  • Confident client interfacing skills plus the ability to manage and develop client relationships.
  • Previous experience in using LCA software would be an advantage.
  • Credibility to lead a team of consultants.
  • Excellent mathematical skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly, on own initiative and as part of a team.
