City based financial services company is looking for a market risk professional to join an expanding function that is in the process of implementing a new market risk reporting and monitoring system.
The ideal candidate will be highly numerate with strong communication skills and the ability to develop relationships across the business. Experience with commodities (especially energy) products or a background analysing the risks in traded derivative products is essential.

A major part of the role will be developing the risk procedures and conducting back testing / stress testing of the risk models.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The preparation of daily management risk reports identifying any significant issues of concern with positions or the performance of margin parameters.
Statistical analysis of products behaviour and the production of margin rate reviews and recommendations.
The daily monitoring of intra-day price changes and the recommendation to make ad hoc intra-day margin calls.

REQUIREMENTS

Educated to degree level, ideally in economics, finance, mathematics, accountancy or other relevant subject.
Ideally some experience within a risk management role at a bank, brokerage, trading firm or exchange.
Knowledge of futures markets in particular commodity futures highly desirable.
Highly numerate with strong analytical skills.
Keen interest, enthusiasm and willingness to learn
A high level of initiative and creativity is expected.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Good organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
