Our client is a growing energy company and one of Europe's leading engineering and consultancy organisations with over 1300 personnel between its offices in Ireland and abroad. They build, own, and operate power stations, whilst providing a full range of engineering and consultancy services to clients in the power sector globally.

Our client is significantly expanding their business operations in the British energy market, with an objective to create a 2.5-3GW thermal merchant portfolio. They have ambitious targets of expansion in Renewable energy and they are currently establishing an Energy Commodity trading business in the GB market and have an urgent need for a Quantitative Analyst.

You will develop and maintain high quality quantitative models to assist with the development and valuation of hedging / contracting strategies in the GB electricity market. You will also be involved in working closely with our clients trading and investment teams.



Responsibilities:
- Stochastic modelling of energy forward and spot prices
- Estimation of stochastic model parameters
- Development of analytical toolkits to value and hedge structured energy contracts
- Present findings to senior members to support the investment / trading decision process
- Development of analytical tools to optimise and value asset flexibility and flexible contracts

Person Specification:
- A degree in a quantitative discipline
- Highly numerate, proven track record in a quantitative modelling role and in-depth familiarity with valuation models
- Strong Analytical &IT skills
- A background in or understanding of energy market fundamental modelling would be a distinct advantage
- Experience within the GB electricity and gas industry is desirable
