Senior Geophysicist

Aberdeen, Scotland

#90000 - #98000 per annum

In this role the appointee will join a lively and dynamic technical team and can expect to work closely with other geoscientists. The job will involve close interaction with drilling and reservoir engineering professionals and the ability to work well within a team setting is a must. You can expect to attend technical committee meetings and liaise with JV partners to ensure that each party's interests are met.

In addition you will provide geophysical expertise and will be responsible for a range Geophysical projects. Responsibilities will include:
- Well planning to support an active drilling programme.
- Assessment of drilling results and estimation of reserves.
- Identification of remaining opportunities and working same to drillable status.
- Working in a multi-disciplinary team involving reservoir, production & drilling engineers.
- Presentation of technical information to partners and management as appropriate.

The ideal candidate will have appropriate oil industry experience, a good geological understanding, and have had exposure to both development and exploration activities. Applicants will ideally hold an MSc in geophysics or geoscience related discipline. A seismic interpreter with interest in geophysical techniques (e.g. seismic imaging, rock physics and AVO) will be favoured.
