Senior Geophysicist

This employer is one of the world leaders in the field of Geophysics, delivering a wide range of technologies, services and equipment throughout the global oil and gas industry. Due to continued success a Senior Geophysicist is sought to join the Reservoir and Characterisation division. This is an excellent opportunity to join an organisation with an excellent glo bal presence and a great place to progress your career in the field of seismic interpretation.

This position will involve 2D and 3D workstation based seismic structural interpretation experience and mapping of interpreted horizons and faults. You can expect to play an active role in time to depth conversion, well to seismic correlation and use your understanding of well log interpretation and formation evaluation to the full. Knowledge of direct hydrocarbon indicators and related AVO concepts would be considered extremely useful to this post. Other elements of the role are expected to involve constructing stratigraphic frameworks and geologic sections, play fairway analysis and Prospect/Lead identification and ranking and the provision of interpreted horizons and well data to team, for incorporation in reservoir study.

Technical elements aside you will be expected to use your strong communication and interpersonal skills when liaising with clients and other interested parties and a flair for project leadership would serve you very well indeed.

This organisation is interested in hearing from those with a strong academic grounding, ideally to MSc level in Geology or Geophysics related subjects. Other experience sought includes a working knowledge of seismic attribute analysis and strong seismic inversion knowledge.
