Senior Reservoir Engineer

Salary: £NEG   pa  - Netherlands/Germany/Russia
 

Organisation

This is a sizable independent operator with large activities in Europe, North Africa, South America, Russia and the Caspian Sea. With a firm strategic plan in place to ensure continuous growth and a dedicated New Ventures team constantly seeking out new locations, the business is looking extremely bright and many inside the organisation believe they will soon catch up with the major operators of the industry. Although headquartered in Germany, with bases across Europe they require several individuals to join their highly technically orientated teams to help company progression and development. The Role

The objective of this post is to optimise the value of assigned assets within the organisation, assets mainly comprise of gas fields being produced at high depletion rates. Working closely within a diverse team that will consist of Geoscientists, Drilling Engineers, Facility Engineers and Production Geologists, you will be responsible for all aspects regarding reservoir engineering for producing fields, field under development and exploration prospects. This role will ensure balanced duties whereby you will have a mixture of managerial and technical responsibilities. It must be stressed that even at Director level, there is still high technical involvement therefore for those wishing to pursue a career path more focused toward management, then this may not be the best option. However if technical orientated workloads is of interest, then the company would certainly like to hear from you. Key areas the Directors would like to see on ones credentials include:

  • Field reservoir engineering (PVT, material balance analysis, reservoir simulation, etc)
  • Well reservoir engineering (well testing, production logging, etc)
  • Reservoir management (production and recovery optimisation, field development, reserves determination)
  • Previous design experience of acquisition programmes and proposal of well interventions
  • An understanding of G&G, petrophysics and E&P economics

Education and Experience

Suitable individuals for this posting would be applicants that already has experience working within a multi diverse, challenging and highly professional environment. Each team consist of highly motivated and extremely dedicated individuals, therefore in order to fit in, your mind set must be similar. It is essential the successful applicant is a self starter and you must be comfortable working within a team and as an independent. Effective communication skills (English verbal and written) are key, a second language is useful though not vital. Good academics is important, they would ideally like to see individuals educated up to MSc levels.
