Senior Petroleum Engineer

US$150000 - US$170000 per annum

An opportunity has arisen for senior level petroleum engineers with a proven track record in providing a high calibre input to the upstream business unit.

Due to the seniority of this role the ideal candidate will be expected employ exceptional leadership qualities and thus take an active role in the professional development of the junior staff members in the engineering team.

As a senior petroleum engineer you will be expected to provide a tangible presence with regards to well testing, completion design and production technology.

Key competencies will include:

* Provide technical input to all Petroleum and Production Engineering related matters covering production, reservoir, economics, drilling, and project management issues.
* Help develop new venture business strategies
* Identify and implement investment opportunities amongst the existing portfolio.
* Provide technical input to production optimisation.
* Set production forecasts and targets
* Run economics
* Recommend well optimum depletion and intervention strategies to maximise company assets.
* Assist in the evaluation and development of production marketing opportunities.
* Conduct technical studies and handle FEED approvals as well as other Engineering related aspects.
* Function as the key technical and operational interface with joint venture partners. Strongly influence partners and other stakeholders in the business on operational related matters.

Those most suited to the role will hold a degree in Petroleum Engineering, ideally with a post-graduate qualification too. Operator experience ideal but not essential, but they do like to see solid regional knowledge. As well as having a strong technical focus, you must also have a good knowledge and understanding of other subsurface disciplines and petroleum economics.
