 Petrophysicist
City of London, UK #95000 - #105000 per annumOne of Europe's premier subsurface consultancies is currently recruiting. This organization has executed client projects in the North Sea, Middle East, Africa, SE Asia and the Americas and provides technical and commercial services on a truly global scale. With clients including major operators, small independent oil companies, financial institutions and government agencies, their services encompass many aspects of exploration, field development and reservoir management.
In line with their continued success and plans for further growth and development, a technically proficient senior level Petrophysicist is now sought. The appointee will form part of a truly multidisciplinary team, including seismic interpreters, reservoir engineers, geologists and production technologists.
In order to ensure a sound technical basis on which to define the resource range during the field development planning and reservoir management stages, the appointee will conduct reservoir simulation and classical data analysis. In addition you will be involved in the assimilation & integration of appraisal data for precise representation in dynamic simulation modelling, pairing reservoir simulation models to surface networks to optimise production and performing history matching on producing fields as part of reservoir management.
Given the nature of the organisation you will also be expected to provide expert advice and, when necessary, oversee data acquisition on appraisal wells to ensure work is accurate and on target. As a senior team member, you will also be tasked with mentoring of junior colleagues and this role will, in essence, be as challenging and rewarding as the appointee seeks to make it.
This is an excellent opportunity for a senior candidate with a sound academic grounding in Petroleum Engineering or closely related subject. The management team is interested in hearing from those with experience relating to reservoir engineering and/or petroleum engineering and this experience must include reservoir simulation work in your most recent position.
Applicants should be able to demonstrate reservoir-modelling capabilities and be highly proficient in the use of simulation software. You will be adept at producing reservoir management plans to optimise recovery and value and be able to offer expert reservoir engineering support to field development activities. Your CV should demonstrate a proven capability in field development and planning. Besides a strong technical background, you should be able to work well in a team setting and be adept at working on your own initiative. An eye for detail and commitment to maintaining accurate data, and ensuring work is accurately and effectively documented and presented are also key requirements.
