Production Engineer

South Africa

#75000 - #95000 per annum

This is an independent upstream oil and gas company. An international energy company that is active in the exploration, development, production, and transportation and marketing of crude oil, natural gas and natural gas liquids. Employing over 2000 staff worldwide the company has production, development and exploration operations in the North Sea, West Africa and South Africa.

You will be responsible for on-time provision of services and materials for IPS work / workovers and well simulations, as well as internal administrative handling of these activities. You will handle the production engineering planning for new wells and field developments. This will entail developing programs for well simulations and coordinating these activities with the functional departments and the laboratory. Due to the level of this role you will be required to monitor production activities with respect to planning targets with a view to production and reservoir engineering aspects. Your key analytical and communicational skills will be used to provide proposals for action and modifications relating to production installations and wellhead equipment. Your responsibilities will involve the production of reports as decision-making aids for management and board of directors. You will be expected to be involved in all aspects of reservoir engineering studies at site and throughout all sites within our client's portfolio.

Individuals need to be skilled in:
* Conceptual and detailed completion, workover and remediation.
* Artificial lift technology, design and installation.
* Perform nodal analysis.
* Preparation and analysis of tenders for the provision of equipment.
* Mastery in production chemistry, scaling and corrosion prevention and treatment, wax management and injection fluid treatment.
* Engineer detailed completion and production operations procedures.

The ideal candidate will posses a relevant engineering degree and be able to demonstrate working to the highest echelons of production engineering.

You will be personable, technically gifted and a team player with excellent communication skills. It is highly desirable that you are determined and focused. In an ideal world, you will already be working within a fairly sizable company.
