Hampshire, UK #22000 - #28000 per annumGEOTECHNICAL LABORATORY COMMISSIONING ENGINEER Our Client was founded in the late 1970s and is a world leader in the manufacture of laboratory and field testing equipment for use by geotechnical engineers and geologists. They are specialists in software based triaxial testing systems for soils and soft rocks, consolidation t esting systems, and in-situ testing systems for the evaluation of shear modulus v. depth profiles.
Our client has an extensive international market with approximately 95% of their business going to export.
Due to extensive growth they are currently seeking to appoint a person who will assist with commissioning existing & new products prior to shipping. The person appointed will also be required to carry out installation and training of systems on customer sites both in the UK and abroad. This position would suit someone with a geotechnical background who has used this knowledge in a laboratory materials testing environment. Specific prior knowledge of the use and application of the company products would be a distinct advantage.
The job includes:
* Commission and test customer systems and equipment prior to shipping to ensure that they are fit for purpose and comply with the high standard of finish and operation expected of the company.
* De-bug and problem solve issues with customer systems and products.
* Prepare, update and upkeep of user guides and handbooks for existing and new products to ensure customers and agents have access to clear and concise information on the use of the companies products and systems.
* Test products from the aspect of company User to ensure that they are in full working order prior to shipping and carry out any agreed modifications or adjustments.
* Preparation of new commissioning procedures and updating or modification of existing procedures.
* Installation and training of products at customer sites both in the UK and abroad.
Person Specification:
* Be technically minded with some experience of the use and application of geotechnical testing equipment
* Geotechnical laboratory testing experience
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
* Good problem solving and analytical capabilities
* Knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety regulations with regard to electro/mechanical equipment
* Geotechnical engineering qualification, experience or background
* Experience in electro-mechanical assembly
* Reliable and flexible
