Subsea Facilities Engineer

REQUIREMENTS OF ROLE

The role will see the successful candidate implementing and supporting a broad range of projects from R+D through to Technical Service Work support their network of global teams. The successful candidate will inevitably have a technical specialism in subsea engineering but will demonstrate a broad knowledge base across other disciplines. Reporting to the Discipline Lead for Subsea systems and processing, the position requires periodic travel to project sites and office locations worldwide.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Previous experience will include delivering E&P Technology Unit Performance Contracts, Offshore Systems Team objectives coupled with the ability to manage subsea and processing system related R&D projects within the Deepwater Technology Leadership area. Those who have provide technical service support on an international basis would be of real interest in particular, provide technical service support in the evaluation and support of new deepwater production projects and existing deepwater facilities. Commitment to all issues HSSE related will be expected given the nature of the role.

The successful candidate will have a suitable academic background, preferably an engineering based BSc coupled with related postgraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering. Ideally you will be a Chartered/registered professional engineer. A demonstrable history of project delivery within a subsea environment is expected. You will have the following project exposure and characteristics:

  • Experience of subsea engineering and related issues
  • Experience and solid understanding of issues relating to deep water field development
  • Some offshore operational experience would be advantageous
  • The ability to work on a diverse and broad range of projects comfortable taking of subsea equipment from design through to installation
  • Self motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • A proven and demonstrable history of delivery on technical issues
  • Good communication, to all levels in the organisation
  • An ability to define and prioritize multiple issues
  • Proven business development and man management skills will be highly advantageous
