Principal Mining Engineer

My client is one of the leading Multi Discipline environmental Consultancies across Europe with over 40 offices across 6 different Continents. With this global presence they really are second to none and as a long standing client of mine and Monarch Recruitment they have come to me with regards to this new post in Turkey.

We are looking for a principal Mining Engineer to provide leadership and develop the mining department in the Turkey office. I am looking to hear from experienced individuals with top class mining experience and a first degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent. Other key criteria includes the following;

• Professional registration of a recognized professional association (or working towards registration)
• Previous industry experience in open pit mining, preferably with precious/base metals with time spent on operating mines
• Strong understanding of finance and economics
• Knowledge of computerized mine planning and optimization tools, e.g. Datamine, Gemcom, MineSight, Vulcan, Whittle
• Demonstrated leadership, mentoring and consulting experience
• Excellent report and proposal writing skills
• Strong written and oral skills in English and Turkish
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

The successful candidate will consult on projects for Turkey and International clients, requiring travel. Assignments will include technical and project leadership for engineering studies (scoping, pre-feasibility and feasibility), operational advice and due diligence/independent reporting projects.
