Senior Interpretation Geophysicist

Location: London

This organisation is seeking out an individual that will help with the development and progression of their division. This role will have you be involved in all phases of the asset life cycle (exploration through to abandonment), you will be required to provide technical leadership to the team and will lead major assignments ensuring quality control and on time delivery. Key skill areas includes (but not limited to):

  • Evaluation of geological and geophysical data, reports and literature

  • Modeling of seismic and attribute data to aid interpretation/support proposals

  • Input for static and dynamic modeling studies

  • Planning and positioning of wells

  • Evaluation and quantification of uncertainty and risk

  • Use of software such as Petrel, RMS, ZMap, SeisWorks, Promax, Geoprobe, etc

  • 2D and 3D seismic interpretation, subsurface mapping, sequence stratigraphy

On a non technical front, they would also like to see these qualities in their applicants:

For a role like this, the organisation expects applying individuals to be able to demonstrate solid proven experience in the real world environment. It is important the applicant is technical strong as they like people with proven experience to manage their processes and projects, plus it is the best way teach and mentor more Junior orientated individuals as you will have firsthand experience. An MSc is essential, additional qualifications and certification is desirable. Membership of professional institutions ideal and North Sea experience is vital.
