Senior Geophysicist / Geoscientist

Employing well over 100,000 people in over 100 countries, this company undertakes a range of activities across the energy spectrum. This role will be within their Oil and Gas subsidiary. Seen as a mid-sized international Oil and Gas operator, this business unit provides advanced technical work across the whole E&P field. The organisation is highly ambitious and they believe with their current business strategic model, the company will achieve and exceed their current set of growth targets. Their aim is to fully utilise existing assets whilst continuously sourcing new additions through discoveries or acquisitions. Most of their E&P activities are within the North Sea region, however with growing operations, the future will offer a much more balanced portfolio. As part of the technical department, you will be an important member of the project team. Your contributions will include (but will not be limited to):

  • Field development studies

  • Identification of economically attractive development activities

  • Conducting and carrying out of 2D and 3D seismic acquisitions, interpretation and processes

  • Prospect appraisals and volumetrics

  • Preparation of technical proposals for reviews and plans

  • Uncertainty and risk analysis

  • Licensing rounds, tenders and bids

As a key operator, you will have regular interaction with various technical experts within the business meaning a more varied and diverse working environment. Those with the ability to contribute to other fields are highly sort after. The ability (and the willingness) to mentor and supervise more Junior members of the team is essential, as you are in a position of seniority many will turn to you for advice therefore you must be comfortable within a position of responsibility.

It is important the applying individual has a proven background within the industry, either within an operator or a consultancy. It is essential you can demonstrate the ability to deliver results and more importantly, you must show you are a team player. Academically they would like individuals to be educated to MSc level, those with memberships to professional institutions will hold a distinct advantage.
