Principal Engineer: Waste / Renewables



Location: Flexible
£45,000 + Excellent range of Benefits

Our client is a multi-disciplinery Engineering consultancy that is looking for an experienced candidate to further strengthen their position and proven reputation in the UK waste sector.

This position offers the right person a fantastic opportunity to play a central role in winning new business and delivering sustainable development services for a range of government, water company, industry and research agency clients.

As part of a small team of industry experts this role will allow the successful candidate to engage with clients, regulators and others to ensure the business' strategic objectives for growth are met. The company are already delivering work in this area to multiple clients and now need to build their team to ensure they can continue to grow and lead in this key area.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Responsible for developing and managing new key accounts in the waste and renewable energy sector, you will develop and detect new opportunities based on an in-depth understanding of the market and client needs
  • Use your broad experience to provide views on waste management options and processes
  • Engage in project delivery either as a lead engineer or project manager for waste management and renewable energy projects in close collaboration with the project team
  • Full life-cycle project management from the preliminary stages through to project completion. With a critical mind you will modify the project where necessary
.

This role calls for strong communication and organisational skills, a high degree of self-motivation, enthusiasm, flexibility and reliability. Other key attributes required will be strong problem solving, analytical, and time-management skills. With your thorough expertise and client focus you will be able to develop a strong relationship with the company's key clients.

The successful applicant will have a MSc in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Bio-engineering or equivalent and extensive experience and up-to-date knowledge in the field.

You have at least 10 years experience of which 5 years will be in the waste sector.
