Noise Consultant



Location: Edinburgh
Up to £26,000 + Benefits package

Outstanding opportunity to join a rapidly expanding independent Environmental, Renewables & Planning consultancy

Assisting the Senior Noise Consultant on a range of renewable and development projects, this role provides excellent scope to enhance your technical skills whilst helping to grow the services and profile of the Noise capabilities within the business.

For this post, a high emphasis will be placed on accuracy and consistency in undertaking measurements, analysis of noise level data and calculations. In addition to technical skills the individual must have excellent written and oral communication skills, team working abilities and enjoy both office and field work. Consideration will be given to those currently undertaking or wishing to undertake specific acoustic post graduate education.

Essential criteria for this role:

12 months post graduation experience within the acoustics or environmental consultancy sectors (outstanding graduates will be considered who are working towards the IoA Diploma)

  • A thorough working understanding of Microsoft Excel
  • An acoustics or related degree
  • Excellent numeracy skills
  • A team player who is eager to learn and develop within the business

Desirable critria:

  • Knowledge of environmental noise measurements
  • Use of noise prediction software CadnaA preferred, but not essential
  • Awareness of national and international standards and legislation

The role will be office based in Edinburgh, however, travel throughout Scotland and the rest of the UK will be required to undertake noise level measurements. Therefore, a full clean driving license and a willingness to work flexibly and independently is essential. The role will comprise both office and field aspects.
