Sustainability Engineer
Location: Newcastle, UK
This company is a large multi-disciplinary organisation that has delivered
prestigious Buildings projects worldwide. Their North East Division is centred
in Newcastle upon Tyne and has around 80 core staff, they are currently seeking
a Sustainability Engineer to further support their diverse, growing business.
Candidates should have a good multidisciplinary knowledge of their field and
be able to positively advise other disciplines regarding aspects of their design
as it impacts mechanical engineering issues.
Essential requirements:
- Degree qualified Mechanical or Electrical Engineer
- Previous extensive relevant experience
- A strong technical focus
- An interest in sustainability and environmental issues
- Capability to work to deadlines and work autonomously when required
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
For the successful applicant principle functions will include:
- Developing the sustainable engineering, design and strategy services (as
part of integrated regeneration projects)
- Mentoring junior engineers on building Regulations, CDM and BREEAM
- Implementing renewable and low carbon energy technologies including
micro-macro wind turbine, Biomass fuels, Ground heat source, solar energy
solutions, CHP wherever possible
- Playing an active part in business development
- Developing and maintain relationships with clients (both private and
public sector) and other external stakeholders.
- Monitoring the clients, initiatives, proposals and projects related to
sustainable strategies and design
