Air Quality Consultant

Bristol, UK

Our client is looking for an enthusiastic individual to introduce air quality/odour skills into their Bristol office by building upon the existing related disciplines and sources of noise work already established.

Initially you will receive support and will be working directly with the established 6 people strong air quality teams in the Midlands or Manchester offices, however the aim of the position will be to grow the air/odour skills locally. The majority of projects will be development related, both environmental assessments (using ADMS, DMRB, WebTAG) and source assessments (Odour Modelling, IPPC). The role will initially include all aspects of these projects such as monitoring, modelling, assessment, design, financial accountability and project management with the possibility of some technical support for monitoring.

The successful candidate must have the ability to undertake the majority of the above types of projects including the use of equipment, models and report writing.

Skills

Organisational and motivation skills will be imperative to enable the successful candidate to work effectively and efficiently remotely from the rest of the team. Excellent communication skills are required, both written and verbal, together with an ability to network with both clients and colleagues.

Qualifications

A relevant degree and membership of an appropriate professional institution is required.

Personal Qualities

We are looking for candidates who are seeking a long-term career in environmental consultancy. Successful candidates will need to have flexibility in being able to meet the demands of environmental consultancy.

Experience

The successful candidate will have proven relevant experience in undertaking the majority of the above types of projects together with a keen understanding of the UK planning system and an ability to successfully liaise between the clients needs and local authority or regulatory consultees. Additional successful experience in an environmental consultancy or as an expert witness will be advantageous. Similarly, experience in related disciplines such as noise, vibration or light assessment will be advantageous.
