Ecological Consultant

Kent or Manchester, UK

This leading consultancy is looking to appoint an Ecological Consultant to join their teams in either Kent or Manchester.

MAIN DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES

• Collection and interpretation of survey data
• Visit sites to undertake surveys
• Production of reports
• Management of projects as allocated by the Principal Ecologist
• Liaison with clients, consultants and other professionals
• Keep abreast of current legislation and technical developments within relevant field

KEY PERFORMANCE MEASURES

Business Development

• Pro-active in relationship building with current and potential clients
• Reacting to external requests for proposals but also generating opportunities, preparing proposals, and demonstrating appropriate levels of financial and technical awareness
• Follow up, negotiate and close proposals
• Identify business opportunities as a result of relationship building

Contract / Project Execution

• Initiate projects through appropriate management system / processes; work within a resource plan and communicate client expectations / timescales
• Responsible for delivery of assigned projects, managing and anticipating client expectations
• Ability to work unsupervised; training offered for new areas of activity; supervision of other consultants where appropriate
• Ability to provide accurate first time deliverables

JOB HOLDER’S PROFILE

• Qualified to degree level
• Ideally you will have over 2 years experience in a similar role
