Arboricultural Consultant

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Arboricultural Consultant to
join one of the fastest growing specialist ecology companies in the UK. The
successful candidate will play a key role in developing the company's range of
services in relation to trees and woodlands.
The successful applicant will advise clients on how to enhance biodiversity
within their development plans and have the opportunity to work on varied and
interesting projects. You will be a valued part of a specialist team of around
twenty ecologists.
Qualifications
- Degree or recognised post-secondary qualification in Arboriculture.
- At least two years' professional experience.
Personal attributes
- Applicants should be self confident, well organised and have an enthusiasm
for ecological science. You should also enjoy helping engineers, developers
and planners to develop plans that consider all issues relating to trees and
woodlands and comply with conservation guidance and legislation.
- A full driving licence and your own car.
Experience
- Ideally candidates will come from a large environmental/arboricultural
consultancy, a utility or infrastructure business or a government body.
- You should have experience in BS5837 surveys, constraints mapping,
arboricultural implications assessments and arboricultural method statements.
- Working knowledge of bat ecology, particularly in relation to trees, would
be advantageous.
- A broad understanding of conservation and planning legislation is
desirable.
