QSE Manager

Our client is looking to appoint an experienced QSE Manager to join their busy engineering and design consultancy business based in Surrey, London and Essex.

This is a new position, reporting to the Business Systems Manager with responsibility for the implementation of QSE management systems and the management of their small QSE team and would suit a Senior Quality Engineer looking for his/her next career step.

Already a member of CQI and with an engineering background, applicants will have strong quality management credentials, ideally supported by a good knowledge of health & safety and environmental management. In addition applicants will have strong communication skills, organisation and management skills and be able to demonstrate a creative approach to continual improvement.

The base location is in their Surrey office, with travel to our other office locations and other possible UK sites.

Responsibilities

As part of a large multi-disciplinary consultancy organisation, they operate within a corporate business management system (BMS)

The role responsibilities include: -

• Establishing and maintaining elements of the BMS with the control of the business
• Monitoring, measuring and reporting on QSE performance
• Ensuring QSE records are maintained
• Managing the QSE team
• Internal and external liaison on QSE and BMS matters
• Managing staff awareness and competence of QSE and BMS issues
• Managing continual improvement

Requirements

• Demonstrate a sound Quality, Health & Safety and Environmental management system background, knowledge of the relevant standards and regulatory requirements and their practical implementation
• Have relevant experience and an engineering background
• Demonstrate strong communication, organisation and management skills
• Have excellent IT skills
• Ideally educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant subject
• Hold individual membership of the CQI
