Our client is a specialist sound and vibration solutions provider. They have an exciting opportunity for Technical Manager to join their team in Essex.

The purpose of the role is to ensure that the technical support and calibration services provided meet the requirements of the accreditation standard, the expectations of the client, the company's quality management system and business objectives.

Main Responsibilities

• Implementation and management of the accreditation standard
• Technical development and improvements within the technical department
• UKAS liaison
• Customer Liaison on technical matters
• Laboratory Security
• Maintenance of Technical Records
• Liaison with suppliers on technical issues
• Control of measuring/monitoring equipment

The successful applicant will be the company's approved signatory for UKAS calibration certificates and be authorised to specify and purchase measuring/monitoring equipment. You will also be authorised to release Technical Procedures.

Secondary Responsibilities

• Technical Assessment of sub-contractors
• Implementation of corrective actions
• Management of participation in Inter-laboratory Comparison programmes
• Participation in Management reviews
• Training of engineering staff
• Maintenance of Reference Material and traceability, including periodic UKAS audits
• Approval of laboratory procedures and documentation
• Technical evaluation of Sub-Contractors
