Consultant - Flood Risk Assessment


London/Surrey/Manchester, UK


Our client is a leading consulting engineering practice working with leading architects and property companies on major commercial, residential and public sector construction projects. They currently have an outstanding opportunity for a Flood Risk Assessment Consultant to develop the existing flood risk skills within their Energy and Sustainability team whilst developing both internal and external customer relationships.

The successful applicant should be experienced in detailed flood risk modeling. The production of water resources sections of Environmental Statements would be advantageous.

Duties will include: -

  • Hydrological assessments
  • Flood Risk Assessments (FRA)
  • Option development & design of drainage solutions (e.g. networks & SuDS)
  • Hydraulic & river modeling
  • Client and regulatory body liaison
  • Project management

Key Skills

Technically competent i.e. recognised as specialist in field, but with aspirations to perform a wider role including project management. The ability to work independently with first class communication and presentation skills.

Qualifications

Candidates should have a good first degree in a relevant subject (e.g. a science or geography) and ideally a Masters Degree in an environmental discipline related to hydrology.

Experience

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years experience most of which will be in a consultancy setting.

Remuneration

Competitive salary dependant on experience plus private company healthcare, life assurance, 24 days holiday, performance related bonus and childcare vouchers.
