Sr. PetrophysicistLocation: Calgary, Alberta, Canada JOB SUMMARY: Our client is seeking a well-rounded Petrophysicist with 8 - 15 years' experience performing reservoir description and characterization studies, including, providing operation support, performing bypass pay assessments, and participating in integrated field studies. KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES This position requires an experienced Petrophysicist who has a track record of providing the description of rocks, pores, and fluids and the characterization of hydrocarbon fluid flow through permeable media at economic rates. This includes the integration of multiple data sets of differing scales, methods, and sources to minimize interpretive uncertainty and maximize return on investment at a minimum of cost. The successful candidate will be familiar with the principles of open hole log analysis, core analysis, and production log analysis for well and reservoir studies in support of exploitation and exploration projects throughout the region. Additional required skills include the ability to design, manage, and interpret log and core data acquisition programs. A candidate should have some seismic rock properties workflows competency. A thorough knowledge of capillary pressure, relative permeability, fluid properties, and compressibility is advantageous. A successful candidate will have a working knowledge of decline curve analysis, production surveillance methods, such as PTA and RTA and experience in pressure analysis for hydrodynamic studies including formation tests and fluid sample acquisition. The candidate will participate in multidiscipline projects and have good communication skills. Additionally, a successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to manage several projects simultaneously, providing deliverables in a timely manner. KEY SUCCESS FACTORS: EDUCATION: B.S. (M.S. or PhD preferred) in Geology, Geophysics, or Petroleum Engineering EXPERIENCE: The role requires a minimum range of 8 to 15 years petroleum industry experience as a log analyst and/or Petrophysicist of which 5+ years were spent working within an exploration company. Experience leading technical / project teams is advantageous. The individual should have experience using Interactive Petrophysics, Geolog, Powerlog or the equivalent.
