Company This marketing division of the one of the world's leading oil & gas companies provides a comprehensive range of services to its parent company encompassing managing and developing client relationships, undertaking regional marketing analyses and generating price recommendations, drafting and negotiating supply contracts for crude oil, refined products and LPG, managing supply logistics.Role Part of a close-knit market analysis team, the Energy Market Analyst position is characterised by its broad scope and high levels of influence: in this role you will be responsible for producing reports and commentary on all commercial and strategic aspects of the European energy market which will be considered by the highest levels of management. In addition to providing insightful analysis, a key function of the role is to be forward looking, to generate ideas, to identify and put forward initiatives that will help enhance the profitability of the business. Candidate Profile We are interested to hear from graduates, probably in a commercial, analytically-focussed discipline, who have gained significant relevant energy sector experience. You may be working within a commercial/strategy/economics team in the upstream or downstream side of the oil and gas sector, for example, or within a specialised oil and gas/energy team within a management consultancy or investment bank. What is key is that you can demonstrate a familiarity with and an understanding of the broader oil and gas value chain/energy spectrum. Allied to that industry knowledge and strong analytical skills, potential candidates must also be able to demonstrate the ability to think in an original, innovative way, that they have a natural inclination to effectively assess and challenge accepted thinking and the status quo.
