Head of Reservoir Engineering
Job Location : based London
Due to expansion in E & P activities an International Investment Bank is seeking to resource a very experienced Head of Reservoir Engineer who will be based at the London Head Office. This is regarded as a key appointment at Director Level.
Summary of Role
- Support all members of team in evaluating , project specific , technical and industrial specific & commercial aspects of risks associated with reserve based lending transactions
- Advise the Reserve Based Lending team and the Banks Credit teams on key risks related to upstream oil field development and production
- Assess and comment on the capacity of Operators to run and develop oil fields used as collateral for loans
- Review available technical data and third party reserve reports, liaise, discuss and meet with client and prospective client engineers and reserve auditors to gain information needed to assess technical risks on relevant fields
- Assess and comment on the suitability of proposed capex and opex profiles in debt cashflows used to estimate debt capacity
- Attend Site visits for oil field due diligence
- Work with senior bankers in assessing credits and structuring deals
- High level of autonomy - on all matters relating to reserve and reservoir risk
Qualification, Experience and Competencies
- Degree in Petroleum / Reservoir Engineering
- Substantial experience in Petroleum Engineering
- Competent in use of excel for mathematical analysis
- Significant experience within E&P operator environment with the core competencies being reservoir engineering and investment risk evaluation
- Experience in senior technical or asset management roles
- Working experience in reservoir modelling and production forecasting are essential
- Worked closely with project finance functions and understanding commodity price hedging mechanisms but also ideally to have experience in senior technical or asset management roles being conversant with project execution and facility completion and handover mechanisms. Working experience in reservoir modelling and production forecasting are essential and a thorough understanding of the commercial contracts associated with oil and gas sales including price indexation and mechanisms.

- Second European language would be advantageous
