Job Location:  London

An International Energy Company is seeking to resource a Senior Petrophysicist who will be invited to join the permanent staff payroll.

Summary of Role:

Appointee will be assigned to the Exploration Department with the remit of providing Petrophysical expertise to both the Exploration and Petroleum Engineering Departments.

• To perform evaluation tasks.
• To process, analyse and interpret geological data acquired in wells.
• To provide QC for the incoming well data, and contribute to keep up-to-date Company well database.
• To plan the logging programme for operated wells.
• To directly liaise with logging contractors.
• To assist in evaluating Bids of Tenders from contracting companies.
• To carry out Well Test interpretations for the Exploration Department.
• To monitor technically the work performed by logging and core analysis contractor in relation with operated wells.
• To monitor partners' operations with respect to Log Acquisition, Core Analysis and Petrophysical Interpretation.
• To evaluate well results by fully utilising all the available well data (Logs, Core, RFT Measurements, Lithology Log, Well Test, etc.)
• To ensure provision of Petrophysical analysis and expertise to Exploration and Reservoir projects.
• To assist and co-operate with the Technical Support Analyst in the quality control, distribution and management of well data.

Required Experience / Qualifications:

• University Degree in Geology, Petroleum Engineering or related subject.
• Knowledge of Well Test interpretation and relative computer programs (e.g. Saphir Kappa).
• Familiarity with all common types of well logs and other data/methods used to evaluate Petrophysical parameters.
• Previous North Sea experience (preferred).
