Principal Geophysicists
Job Location: The Gulf States & UK
Due to expansion in activities, International Energy Companies are seeking to resource Principal Geophysicists for the following locations.
These are regarded as key appointments which require substantial oil industry experience.
A) The Persian Gulf (Open to all nationalities)
Principal Geophysicist
Summary of Role
Provides geophysical expertise and support for all aspects of the company's exploration and development activities. Reviews, interprets and maps seismic data relating to operated, non-operated and new ventures projects. Provides an independent geophysical evaluation a part of an on-going technical review to enable a full commercial evaluation of all assets
- Recommends exploration, appraisal and development well locations that satisfy corporate aims
- Prepares and presents technical papers on behalf of the company at industry technical conferences.
- Able to interpret seismic data, incorporating relevant well information, to produce both seismic time and depth maps.
- Computer literate both on UNIX based workstations and on PC based computers.
Employment Terms
The appointee will be invited to join the expatriate staff payroll on long term residential contract (married or single status). The importance of this key role will be reflected in the generous salary and expatriate benefits
B) Aberdeen (Only open to EU passport holders)
Principal Development Geophysicist
Assume responsibility for providing comprehensive mapping of company appraisal, development & production assets in the UK North Sea.
Mentoring / Training of Junior Staff.
Required Experience
Substantial experience in Oil Industry in operated & non-operated Field Development. UK North Sea experience would be advantageous.
