Completion Engineers

Gulf of Mexico

About the role

We're now looking for highly experienced Completion Engineers to join us in the US Gulf of Mexico. If you have an impressive background of deepwater completions, this is your opportunity to work alongside some of the most experienced technical completion experts in the world. As part of our multi-disciplinary team, you'll deliver detailed completion engineering guidance and operational support on new and existing wells.

More specifically, you'll help design, plan and execute programs in areas such as inflow performance, production/injection optimization modeling, equipment/material specification, cost estimates, and post appraisals. In all you do, you'll demonstrate a strong commitment to delivering safe and compliant completions with long term reliability. Not least, we'll expect you to be keenly aware of new technologies, incorporating them into designs and work programs.

About you

To be considered you'll need at least 10 years' experience in Completions Engineering, including 5 years working in deepwater completions. We'll expect you to have an excellent understanding of open hole or cased hole sand control. Ideally, you're also knowledgeable in sand control flow assurance, inflow performance, pore pressure and fracture gradients, fracture stimulation gravel packs and subsea completions.

You'll be at an advantage if you can combine an IWCF Well Control certificate with experience of creating completion designs for HPHT deepwater oil and gas wells. Skills in Landmark well engineering software packages would also be a plus. However, it's essential that you're an excellent communicator and team player who can work effectively with 3rd party service providers. Naturally, you're committed to continually improving processes and have a proactive approach to process safety and operational risk mitigation.

About us

In addition to being the largest US domestic oil producer and proven reserves holder, BP is the largest lease holder in the Gulf of Mexico and one of its top producers of oil.

Our diverse portfolio includes some of the industry's biggest technical challenges. We're setting the standards in ultra-deepwater, ultra-high-temperature high-pressure (HPHT) environments, and delivering some of the world's biggest wells. Join us and you'll find we're committed to developing you in a world-class environment, and equipping you with the latest technology and leading edge capability.

BP is an equal opportunity employer.
