Michael Page Oil & Gas has been retained to recruit a Geophysicist/Seismic Interpreter (Senior to Advisor Level) on an exclusive basis for Bridge Energy Norge AS, a growing Exploration & Production company in Asker, outside Oslo, in Norway.
Bridge Energy ASA is an oil and gas exploration and production company which holds production licences in the UK (North Sea) Continental Shelf and exploration assets in both the UK and Norwegian Continental Shelves. The Norwegian assets' 100% owned subsidiary, Bridge Energy Norge AS, is looking to recruit a Geophysicist to join in their exploration team in Asker, outside Oslo, in Norway to aid growth and expansion.
The successful Geophysicist/Seismic Interpreter (Senior to Advisor Level) will be based in Asker, outside Oslo, and will be responsible for the provision of geophysical support to the Exploration department, including seismic interpretation and the generation and mapping of prospects. You will formulate and execute agreed technical programmes for licence rounds, operated licences and assets, as well as provide geophysical input into new business opportunity evaluations (data rooms and farm-ins). Your duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following.
- Seismic and Rock Physics interpretation.
- Participate in planning of data acquisitions and evaluation work.
- Providing geophysical input into the operated exploration licences including well correlation and volumetric generation.
- Prepare and present material as required by internally and to third parties (Authorities/JV partners).
- Basin wide prospectivity to focussed prospect scale analysis for participation in licensing rounds.
- Take on project/ team leader responsibilities and mentoring younger staff.
- Technical evaluation of potential farm-ins and asset acquisition.
- Representing Bridge Energy at non-operated licence meetings.
- Commissioning and management of consultants undertaking geophysical studies for Bridge Energy.
The successful Geophysicist/Seismic Interpreter (Senior to Advisor Level) will be based in Asker, outside Oslo, and must be educated to degree level,either MSc or PhD, in a Geosciences or related subject. You will have a proven track record in a Geophysics role in the upstream Oil & Gas industry. You must also be able to demonstrate the following.
- Proven background in an oil company carrying out exploration or production geophysics, preferentially including offshore NW Europe/North Sea.
- Broad experience with seismic and rock physics interpretation.
- Skilled in mapping of prospects and basins, integrating and compiling seismic and well data.
- Familiar with contributing to integrated, co-worked projects.
- We run Petrel and Kingdom and user skills on these or similar applications are required.
- Documenting work and results to industry standard.
- Excellent communication skills (English).
